Am 28. und 29. Januar 2014 findet in Berlin die 9. Internationale Konferenz "Academic Publishing in Europe (APE)" zur Lage des wissenschaftlichen Publikationswesens in den Bereichen Naturwissenschaften, Technik und Medizin (STM – Science, Technology, Medicine) statt. Zusätzlich wird  am 27. Januar auch ein Vorkonferenz-Tag angeboten. Die Veranstaltung steht unter dem Motto "Redefining the Scientific Record". Inhaltlich liegt der Fokus der Konferenz darauf, wer in der heutigen Welt der STM-Verlagsbranche Information erstellt, vermittelt und verwaltet. Die Konferenz richtet sich u.a. an Wissenschaftler, Bibliothekare, Information Professionals, Verleger, Autoren, Wissenschaftsjournalisten und Datenbankanbieter.
